The types of anaerobic digesters best for your beef facility are:
Determining the proper digester for a beef facility depends
on such factors as climate conditions, manure collection and
total solids content.
Beef manure collected from a dirt drylot presents
challenges to a digester due to rocks, sticks, and other
inorganics. Beef manure collected from cement floored
barns with minimal contamination is readily digestible. If
the solids content (weight of manure without water) is 11 –
13%, a plug flow digester may be used. If the solids content
is below 11% a complete mix digester may be the best
choice.
